Who is Captain Asfandyar Bukhari Shaheed
On September 18, 2015, militants from the TTP attacked the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Camp Badaber on Inqalab Road in Peshawar.
23 security personnel and civilians were martyred, and 13 militants were killed during the operation to clear the camp.
The attack began when a group of militants entered the air force base and opened fire. This also included inside a mosque where people were offering prayers.
Several worshippers were among those killed, according to the reports. The operation to secure the camp continued until all the attackers were eliminated.
During the response, a Quick Response Force (QRF) from the Pakistan Army’s 102 Brigade was sent to the camp. Captain Asfandyar Bukhari was part of the operation, PMA KAKUL reports.
Captain Isfandyar helped identify the militants’ positions and proposed a plan in which armoured vehicles would draw the attackers’ attention while he and a small group approached from another direction.
The plan was carried out during the operation, and military officials said Captain Asfandyar killed several militants.
Later, while checking a room where another attacker was believed to be hiding, he was critically wounded in an exchange of fire.
Captain Asfandyar Bukhari later succumbed to his injuries and was declared a Shaheed.
