Boat that nearly sank near Ormara rescued: ISPR

The Pakistan Navy and the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) rescued all 20 people aboard a fishing boat that was sinking near Ormara on Thursday. This has marked their second successful sea rescue operation in the past 24 hours.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the fishing boat Al Hamdan Yaqoob began sinking off the coast of Ormara with 20 Pakistani crew members on board.

A Pakistan Navy Sea King helicopter and a PMSA Defender vessel were sent to the area after the incident, which took place about 32 nautical miles south of Ormara.

All 20 crew members were rescued safely and are receiving initial medical treatment.

Missing K2 Airways plane wreckage found

Previously, the Pakistan Navy and the PMSA had found the wreckage of the missing K2 Airways cargo plane during an ongoing search and rescue operation.

The operation has been underway for more than 12 hours. During the search, rescue teams located the aircraft’s wreckage in the sea.

Officials said the wreckage was found 53 nautical miles south of the Ormara coast.

Search teams are continuing the operation to recover more evidence and locate the crew members.

Pakistan Navy ships and aircraft, along with PMSA teams, remain involved in the search operation.

K2 Airways cargo plane from Sharjah to Karachi goes missing

Recently, a K2 Airways Boeing 737-400 cargo plane went missing following the route from Sharjah to Karachi.

The PAA confirmed today that the plane went missing while it was on its way to Pakistan.

Boeing 737-400 cargo aircraft went off the radar at 21:18 as per the Pakistan Standard Time (PST).

PAA officials said that contact with the plane was cut off due to a navigational system fault. PAA further added that after the reported navigation system malfunction, the Karachi Area Control Centre (KACC) provided immediate guidance to the flight crew.
