PHF opens training camp at Naseer Banda Stadium for senior men’s hockey team

The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has established a training camp for prospective players of the national senior men’s hockey team at the Naseer Bunda Hockey Stadium in Islamabad.

The camp has been organized on the directives of PHF President Mohiuddin Ahmed Wani and in accordance with the recommendations of the Professional Development Committee and the National Selection Committee.

The training camp is part of Pakistan’s preparations for the upcoming Men’s FIH Hockey World Cup, scheduled to be held in Belgium and the Netherlands from August 15 to 30.

According to the Pakistan Hockey Federation, the training camp will run from July 11 to July 26 at the Naseer Banda Hockey Stadium, Islamabad.

All selected prospective players have been instructed to report to the camp coordinator and coaching staff at the Pakistan Sports Complex, Islamabad, by 5:00 pm on July 11.

The players selected for the camp include goalkeepers Muneeb-ur-Rehman (WAPDA), Ali Raza (Navy), and Waqar (WAPDA).

The defenders are Sufyan Khan (Customs), Imad Butt (National Bank), Abu Bakr Mahmood (National Bank), Arbaaz (MPCL), Nadeem Khan (MPCL), Abdul Manan (Pakistan Air Force), Hammad Anjum (WAPDA), Muhammad Abdullah (MPCL), and Arshad Liaquat (MPCL).

The midfielders include Moin Shakeel (WAPDA), Ghazanfar Ali (MPCL), Zakaria Hayat (Navy), and Muhammad Imad (Customs).

The forwards selected for the camp are Afraz Khan (MPCL), Ahmed Nadeem (MPCL), Hanan Shahid (WAPDA), Rana Waheed Ashraf (WAPDA), Abdul Rehman (Pakistan Air Force), and Rana Waleed Ashraf (Navy).
