Young patient allegedly tortured to death at Islamabad Mental Health Centre

A young patient allegedly died after torture at a mental health centre in Islamabad, the private media outlet reported.

The victim’s father has filed an application to register an FIR at Shahzad Town police station in the federal capital.

According to the application, staff at the mental health center ran away after the incident. The father also said doctors found torture marks on his son’s body.

The father stated that he admitted his son to the center in June. But the center administration did not let him meet his son for a whole month.

On July 9, the center told him his son had dengue. But when he reached there, he found out his son had already died, the application said.

The father also told police that the center’s owner, Dr. Hamza, has gone missing from the facility.
