The Sindh government of Sindh has announced plans to install big screens to watch the FIFA World Cup (WC) 2026 semi-finals and final matches.

The screens will be installed in Karachi and several other cities to allow football fans to watch the matches together.

The decision was announced by Sindh Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Sardar Muhammad Bakhsh Khan Mahar, after the tournament’s semi-final line-up was confirmed, with France, Spain, England and Argentina securing places in the last four.

In Karachi, the semi-final matches will be shown on 15 and 16 July, while the final will be screened on July 20 at the Youth Development Centre in Sharafi Goth, Malir.

The minister said the semi-finals and final would also be broadcast on big screens in Shaheed Benazirabad, Larkana, Hyderabad and Mirpurkhas.

In Sukkur, all three matches will be screened at the Municipal Stadium, while football fans in Rohri will be able to watch the final at the Rohri Football Ground.

The Ghotki Sports Complex will host screenings of both semi-finals and the final, while the Thatta Sports Complex will broadcast the final match only.

Mr Mahar said the initiative forms part of the provincial government’s efforts to promote sports and encourage healthy recreational activities among young people.

He said hosting public screenings of one of football’s biggest tournaments would help strengthen the sport’s popularity, inspire young athletes and further develop football culture across Sindh.
