Authorities have launched a crackdown against petrol stations selling adulterated fuel, taking action after receiving complaints from citizens.
According to officials, the Assistant Commissioner (AC) Shalimar sealed a petrol pump in Sector F-10, Islamabad, for allegedly selling petrol mixed with water.
The petrol pump’s manager was arrested during the operation. Officials said the action was taken after an inspection team collected fuel samples from the site, which reportedly confirmed the presence of adulteration.
The district administration said inspections and enforcement actions against fuel adulteration will continue to protect consumers and ensure the sale of quality petroleum products.
The government announced new petrol and diesel prices in Pakistan, on July 10, 2026. A notification had been issued in this regard.
The prices of petrol have been increased by Rs13.18, and diesel prices have been increased by Rs13.80.
The new price of petrol is Rs310.71, and the new price of high speed diesel is Rs323.30, as per the notification.

According to reports earlier, the government was expected to increase the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel for the next seven days.
The expected increase comes after fresh tensions between the United States and Iran pushed global oil prices higher.
Reports said the price of petrol may increase by about Rs13 per litre. The new price will be around Rs310 per litre.
High-speed diesel was also expected to become about Rs14 per litre more expensive. Its new price will be around Rs324 per litre.
The Petroleum Division issued an official notification to announce the new fuel prices. The revised rates will remain in effect for one week.
Earlier this month, the government reduced fuel prices. Petrol became cheaper by Rs1.97 per litre and its price was set at Rs297.53 per litre. High speed diesel was also reduced by Rs1.97 per litre to Rs309.50 per litre.
According to previous reports, the government is expected to keep petrol prices unchanged for the week starting July 11.
According to those reports, no change is expected in petrol or diesel prices for the coming week.
