Field Marshal Asim Munir meets Turkish President Erdogan
CDF and COAS Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir met Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara on Tuesday, according to TRT World.
Field Marshal Asim Munir arrived in Turkiye on Monday for a two day official visit.
According to security sources, he received a warm welcome on his arrival. During the visit, he is expected to hold important meetings with Türkiye’s political and military leadership.
Last month, Field Marshal Asim Munir also met Turkish Land Forces Commander General Selçuk Bayraktaroğlu, according to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).
During that meeting, both sides discussed regional security and reviewed ways to further strengthen the long standing brotherly ties and defence cooperation between Pakistan and Turkiye.
Field Marshal Asim Munir and the Turkish commander reaffirmed their commitment to expanding the defence partnership between the two countries.
Recently, the 276th Corps Commanders’ Conference was held at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi. There, senior military leaders reviewed the country’s security situation and discussed regional developments.
According to the ISPR, the forum offered prayers for the martyrs of the armed forces, law enforcement agencies and civilians.
