Google has officially offered the first glimpse of a new feature called Pixel Glow, ahead of the launch of the highly anticipated Pixel 11 smartphone lineup. The company released a short teaser video on the homepage of its online store, scheduled to take place on August 12 in New York City, where the Pixel 11 series is expected to make its official debut.
The teaser introduces Pixel Glow, and instead of a separate LED, Pixel Glow appears as a circular light integrated into the phone’s camera island. The light will display a range of colours, allowing it to serve as an advanced notification system for incoming alerts and other activities.
Although, Google has not yet revealed whether users will be able to customise its colors, effects, or notification patterns. More details are expected during the official launch event.
Google has also confirmed that pre-orders for the Pixel 11 series will begin on August 12. Additionally, artificial intelligence will once again play a central role in Google’s upcoming product announcements.
Reportedly, the Pixel 11 lineup will include four models, Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and Pixel 11 Pro Fold, providing options across both traditional and foldable smartphone categories.
Moreover, Google has not revealed many hardware details but there are several rumours circulating. The biggest rumored upgrade is the new Tensor G6 processor. It may be made by TSMC using its advanced 2nm technology. Google could become the first smartphone brand to use this chip with this addition. The new chip is expected to improve battery life, power health, and heat management.
On the other hand, previously, reports were circulating about Apples new launch, expected to take place in September. This will include iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max series and its first foldable iPhone.
Apple has not officially confirmed these plans. However, reports from several sources, including Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman, say the company is working on new iPhones, foldable devices and more products with artificial intelligence (AI).
