Pakistan Women’s Cricket squad steps up training ahead of Sri Lanka challenge

The Pakistan Women’s Cricket Team is leaving no stone unturned ahead of their upcoming Sri Lanka tour. The team’s short training camp is in full swing at the Hanif Muhammad Regional Cricket Academy Ground, National Bank Stadium.

Under the guidance of team mentor and camp commandant Riyaz, the players underwent an intense training session featuring fitness drills, fielding exercises, bowling practice, and batting preparations.

With the tour fast approaching, the national side is focused on building fitness, sharpening skills, and preparing for the challenges ahead in Sri Lanka.

The camp will continue until Sunday, and the Pakistan Women’s Team will depart for Sri Lanka the following day. The tour will feature a three-match ODI series and a three-match T20 series between the Pakistan and Sri Lanka women’s teams.

The ODI series is part of the ICC Women’s Championship, which also serves as a pathway to qualification for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup. The first ODI will be played on July 23, the second on July 25, and the third on July 28 at the Suryawewa International Cricket Stadium.

The T20 series will begin on July 31, with the second match scheduled for August 2 and the third T20I on August 4.

It should be noted that Pakistan all-rounder and captain Fatima Sana will be available only for the ODI series. Due to a historic agreement with England’s The Hundred League, she will then leave for England and will not be able to participate in the T20 series.
