IESCO announces emergency power outage for Friday morning

The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) has announced an emergency power shutdown in parts of the federal capital from 5:00 am to 8:00 am on Friday.

According to an IESCO spokesperson, the outage is necessary to facilitate essential safety and maintenance work at the Satellite Town Grid Station. During the operation, the Tariq Shaheed feeder will also remain shut down, resulting in a temporary suspension of electricity supply to several areas connected to the affected feeders.

Residents have been advised to plan accordingly, as power will be restored once the maintenance work is completed.

The affected feeders include Shaheed Muhammad Din, Shamsabad, Sadiqabad, Syedpur Road, C Block, Shakrial, Noor Muhammad Road, Asghar Mall, Ojri Camp, Effendi Colony, National Market, Abdul Rehman, Urology, Haideri Chowk, Fourth Road, Commercial Centre, New Malpur, Ghausia Chowk, E Block, Abu Bakar, Farooq Azam, and Jamia Masjid Road.

IESCO has urged residents to take necessary precautions during the scheduled outage and cooperate with the utility so that the maintenance work can be completed safely and on time.

Meanwhile, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Industries and Production, Haroon Akhtar Khan, announced that electricity prices are expected to decrease further in Pakistan.

He said the government’s economic policies are producing positive results and that electricity tariffs have already been reduced, with additional cuts likely in the coming days. According to Haroon Akhtar Khan, lower electricity prices will provide relief to both industries and domestic consumers while creating a more favourable environment for investment in the country.

He also stated that Pakistan is increasingly being recognised internationally as a peace-loving nation. He said the leadership of the Prime Minister and the Field Marshal has been appreciated globally, and Pakistan’s role in promoting regional peace is gaining international recognition.
