Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senator Irfan Siddiqui has fallen critically ill and has been placed on a ventilator, according to family sources.
The family said the senator will not be able to cast his vote today on the 27th Constitutional Amendment.
However, on Sunday, the joint Standing Committees on Law and Justice of the Senate and National Assembly have approved the draft of the 27th Constitutional Amendment. The proposed amendments are scheduled to be presented in the Senate today in the form of a committee report.
Senator Irfan Siddiqui, Hilal-e-Imtiaz, is a Pakistani politician and a columnist currently serving as a member of Senator from the province of Punjab under the banner of PML-N.
Previously he served as special adviser on national affairs to the former Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif and as the press secretary of the former President of Pakistan Rafiq Tarar.
