The Information Ministry on Monday dismissed Afghan media reports claiming that the country had launched attacks on a university and residential areas in Kunar province, calling the allegations baseless.
The Ministry, in a statement, has rejected what it described as propaganda by Indian-backed Afghan media regarding the attack in Kunar. ‘ Afghan media is spreading fabricated reports about attacks in Kunar, adding that the Afghan Taliban regime has nothing meaningful to offer its people, it added.
The Ministry further stated that the Afghan Taliban regime cannot provide services, welfare or effective governance, and instead relies on misinformation and hatred. According to the statement, the Afghan Taliban regime has adopted tactics of spreading lies and conducting false flag operations, allegedly influenced by Indian propaganda.
The Ministry reiterated that Pakistan will openly announce any strikes carried out under Operation Ghazab-Lil-Haq and emphasised that such actions, once completed, will be considered matters of the past.
On the other hand, Independent Fact Check has identified misinformation being spread by an Afghan News X account, which claimed that Pakistani aircraft carried out attacks in Kunar province of Afghanistan.
According to Independent Fact Check, this claim is completely false and appears to be part of propaganda attributed to the Afghan Taliban regime. Pakistan has not conducted any airstrikes in the Kunar region of Afghanistan, and all reports suggesting otherwise are baseless and misleading.
Independent Fact Check further states that such misinformation is being circulated on social media to mislead the public.
