USA: another Afghan national arrested

Recently, another Afghan citizen was arrested in Texas on terrorism charges.

Texas, or the “Lone Star State,” is the second-largest US state by both land area and population.

According to American media, the Texas Department of Public Safety, along with the FBI, detained Mohammad Dawood Alokozai.

Authorities acted after he appeared in a video claiming he was preparing a bomb to target the Fort Worth area of Texas.

Reports state that Al-Kuqazai entered the United States under President Biden’s Operation Allies Welcome program. In the video, he allegedly threatened to detonate a bomb in the country.

The video message surfaced two days after the White House incident.

Following its circulation, the FBI and Texas Department of Public Safety launched an immediate operation and arrested the Afghan national.

National Guard troops shot near White House

Previously, Washington’s Farragut Square turned chaotic after two National Guard troops were shot, the Guardian reports.

Some residents blamed former President Trump’s heavy militarisation of the capital for creating a tense environment, according to the Guardian.

The normally quiet area, filled with offices, coffee shops, and lunch spots, resembled a major crime scene as news of the shooting spread.

Authorities later identified the suspect as an Afghan man.
