Afghanistan Freedom Front gun downs 21 Taliban
Recently, the Afghanistan Freedom Front (AFF) claimed responsibility for a major attack on Taliban forces in Afghanistan’s northeastern Badakhshan province.
The group said its fighters killed at least 21 Taliban members, including several commanders. Reportedly, they also injured 37 others during the clash.
According to the AFF, the attack targeted several Taliban checkpoints and military positions in the Zebak district. The group claimed it caused heavy casualties and damaged a number of Taliban military sites.
According to Afghanistan International English, citing the AFF, the fighting also led to the deaths of several senior Taliban field commanders.
The Afghanistan Freedom Front is among several armed resistance groups that have been carrying out attacks against Taliban forces since the Taliban returned to power in August 2021, according to the reports.
Earlier, Pakistan security forces responded swiftly and forcefully to an unprovoked attack by the Afghan Taliban on Pakistani border posts in the Kurram sector, targeting several enemy positions and silencing enemy artillery, according to security sources.

Recently, Pakistani journalist Anas Mallick took to the social media platform X, formerly Twitter, to respond to a post by the international media outlet BBC World, stating that Pakistan has seen a 300 per cent increase in terrorist attacks and a 500 per cent increase in suicide bombings since the Taliban took charge in Afghanistan next door.
Further, he stated that Pakistanis have lost over 4 thousand citizens since their takeover.
He wrote that the Taliban sheltered terrorists, aided them, and allowed their terrorist activities to continue.
Adding that, ‘their families want to know why as well as to why did the Taliban shelter, aid and abet these terrorists to allow them to carry out their terrorist activities — Isolating one incident from the wider counter terrorism action is certainly disingenuous.’
