Islamabad Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz Memon has said that all entry and exit points of the federal capital are open, traffic is flowing normally on all major roads, and commercial activities are continuing as usual. In a statement posted on social media platform X, the deputy commissioner provided an update on the situation in Islamabad and said that citizens were able to travel to their destinations without disruption.
According to Memon, all major routes within Islamabad are open, while traffic is moving normally on the city’s highways and main roads. He said there were no unusual disruptions to road traffic and that citizens were continuing their daily travel as usual. The deputy commissioner also said that commercial activities across the capital remain ongoing, with business centres operating normally.
He added that routine activities in the city were continuing without major disruption, indicating that normal life in Islamabad remains largely unaffected. Memon reiterated that all entry and exit routes are open and that traffic is flowing normally across the federal capital.
On the other hand, Federal police officials have informed the Islamabad High Court that PTI leaders have not been harassed and will not be harassed in the future. Justice Inam-ur-Rehman Minhas heard a petition concerning the alleged harassment of PTI leaders, including Malik Aamir and Shoaib Shaheen, ahead of the long march.
During the hearing, SSP (Operations) Qazi Ali Raza and DSP (Legal) Sajid Cheema appeared before the court in compliance with a judicial order. The police officials stated that the petitioners had not been harassed by the police and assured the court that they would not be harassed in the future. They further said that if an FIR is registered against anyone, legal proceedings are carried out in accordance with the law. Following the police officials’ assurance that the petitioners would not be harassed, the Islamabad High Court disposed of the petition.
