Prices of the iPhone 17 series have begun to soften in Pakistan, offering some relief to buyers who had been facing unusually high rates since the phones arrived in the country through unofficial channels.
Market dealers say multiple iPhone 17 models have seen a slight drop in recent days. While the reduction is not major, it is still noticeable compared to the earlier asking prices, whether PTA-approved or non-PTA.
The standard iPhone 17, which had been selling for around Rs430,000 soon after launch, is now available for roughly Rs410,000 in major cities. Meanwhile, the PTA-approved 256 GB iPhone 17 Pro Max has recorded one of the biggest declines. It was previously listed as high as Rs710,000 but can now be found for around Rs550,000 in Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad.
No fixed pricing due to unofficial imports
The local market continues to show wide disparities in pricing because Pakistan does not have an official Apple store. Retailers import their own stock and set prices based on availability, customs duties and demand.
Some companies describe themselves as “Apple distributors” in Pakistan, but buyers often find their rates slightly higher than market sellers, and stock remains limited. Dealers also note that dual eSIM (LL/A) variants are cheaper than the standard physical-SIM models. For example, if the single physical SIM plus eSIM iPhone 17 Pro Max is available for around Rs555,000, the dual eSIM version can be found for about Rs440,000.
iPhone 16 prices still high
Despite expectations, the launch of the iPhone 17 has not led to a significant price cut for the iPhone 16 lineup. Dealers say the older models have largely retained their earlier rates, with only minor adjustments in some cases.
For now, the slight softening in iPhone 17 prices suggests that supply has improved, though buyers may still see different rates depending on where they shop.
