A civil court has issued bailable arrest warrants for the Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and the Commissioner of Islamabad over the non-implementation of a court decree issued in 2000.
The case was heard by Civil Judge Nasiruddin on an application seeking enforcement of the decree. The decree had been passed in favour of petitioner Muhammad Rashid in 2000.
Rashid approached the court after the authorities allegedly failed to implement the decision despite the acquisition of his land.
According to the petitioner, he has yet to receive compensation under the rehabilitation and resettlement policy despite his land having been acquired by the authorities.
Barrister Hasnain Haider Thaheem appeared before the court as counsel for the petitioner and requested effective and complete implementation of the decree.
The court issued bailable arrest warrants for the CDA chairman and Islamabad commissioner over the failure to comply with the 2000 decree.
The court also directed the relevant authorities to ensure implementation of the decree and warned of legal proceedings in case of continued non-compliance.
