The film stars Robert Pattinson as television host Chris Hansen. It was produced with a reported budget of $15 million. The movie also opened in about 500 fewer theaters than Heart of the Beast. Strong reviews helped create interest around Primetime. The film also gained attention after its appearance at the Venice Film Festival. The results highlighted Pattinson’s audience appeal. According to the report, 69% of Primetime ticket buyers were under 30. This audience helped support the film’s opening performance.
Pattinson has also appeared in other major films this year. Those include A24’s The Drama and Universal’s The Odyssey. The weekend was also strong for the wider domestic box office. Ticket sales were reportedly 58.5% higher than the same weekend last year. The domestic box office has reached about $7.8 billion so far this year.
