Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz has said that the people of Azad Kashmir have rejected the politics of riots, violence, protests, and strikes through the power of their vote.
Addressing the Azad Kashmir parliamentary party, Maryam Nawaz said the people had defeated the politics of division and violence and voted in favour of development and progress.
The Punjab chief minister said work would begin in Azad Kashmir on the very day the new cabinet is formed.
She said the people of Azad Kashmir had voted for development and progress, and that the PML-N government would provide relief to the public. She added that relief efforts would begin as soon as the Azad Kashmir Prime Minister takes the oath.
The Punjab chief minister added that the signs of development visible across Sindh, Punjab, and Balochistan were the result of the performance of PML-N governments.
Earlier, PML-N President and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir have placed their trust in his party, and now it will ensure that this trust is not betrayed.
He said the people of Azad Kashmir were looking towards Punjab’s development model and expressed confidence that the region could also be transformed through similar efforts. He congratulated the candidates who won seats in the Azad Kashmir elections, as well as those who were unsuccessful. He said the party should not lose heart over the loss of a single seat, stressing that Allah Almighty had granted the PML-N victory in Azad Kashmir and that the party had secured a majority in the first two phases.
