Azerbaijan introduces e-visa system for Pakistani tourists

Travelling to Azerbaijan has become easier for Pakistanis, as the country introduces an online e-visa service.

Azerbaijan has launched an e-visa system for Pakistani citizens to make the visa application process easier and faster for the travellers.

Under this newly introduced system, Pakistanis can apply for an electronic visa or e-visa online without visiting any embassy.

Azerbaijan os offering two types of e-visas. This includes a standard visa, which is issued within three working days.

The other one being offered is an urgent visa, which is processed within three to five hours.

Applicants will be informed about the status of their visa through an email.

If they do not receive an email, they can check the status of their application through the official ASAN visa website.

How to apply

To apply, travellers must visit the ASAN visa portal and complete the process in three steps: submit the application, pay the fee, and download the e-visa.

The fee for a single-entry 30-day visit visa under the standard category is 20 US dollars.

An additional service fee of 9 dollars is charged. This will bring the total cost to 29 dollars.

In Pakistan, this is approximately Rs8,190.

For urgent applications, the visa fee is 50 US dollars, which is around Rs14,122.

The e-visa is valid for 90 days, while visitors are allowed to stay in Azerbaijan for up to 30 days.

Visa-free entry

China, one of the most popular destinations for travellers across the world, has announced visa-free entry for visitors in 2026.

The visa-free entry was announced by the Chinese government for the passport holders of the United Kingdom (UK) during British Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s visit to China.

In an official announcement, the British government stated, “Today’s agreements will also see China relax visa rules for British citizens, ending the requirement for travel under 30 days. It will mean people visiting China on business, as well as tourism, will be able to visit China visa-free.”
