Fully fit Babar Azam resumes batting practice in Dhaka

The start batsman Babar Azam has fully recovered and resumed training ahead of the second Test against the Bangladesh national cricket team.

Babar took part in an intensive batting session at the Bangladesh Cricket Board Academy in Dhaka under the supervision of batting coach Asad Shafiq.

During the practice session, the Pakistan batter appeared in good rhythm and comfortably ran between the wickets, showing no signs of discomfort. The team’s trainer and physio also remained present at the nets, closely monitoring his batting and assessing his fitness progress.

It is worth noting that Babar Azam missed the first Test against the Bangladesh national cricket team due to knee pain. However, he is expected to be available for the second Test of the series, which will be played in Sylhet.

During the practice session, Babar Azam ran between the wickets without any difficulty. The team’s trainer and physio were also present, closely observing Babar Azam’s batting and assessing his improved fitness.

On the other hand, the Bangladesh national cricket team strengthened their position against the Pakistan national cricket team on the fourth day of the opening Test in Dhaka, reaching 152 for 3 in their second innings, with their lead extending to 179 runs at the time of filing this report.

Resuming the day at 7 without loss, Bangladesh suffered two early setbacks as Mahmudul Hasan Joy was dismissed by Mohammad Abbas for 5, while Shadman Islam fell to Hasan Ali after scoring 10.

Despite the early wickets, the hosts continued to build their advantage as the match moved into a crucial phase on Day 4.

Earlier, in reply to Bangladesh’s first-innings total of 413, the entire Pakistan national cricket team side was bowled out for 386 on the third day, handing the hosts a first-innings lead of 27 runs.

The highlight of the third day was a brilliant century by debutant Azan Owais and a half-century from Abdullah Fazal. The two batters scored 103 and 60 runs, respectively.
