Boys dominate top spots in Balochistan matric results 2026

The Balochistan Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education has officially announced the results of the annual matriculation examinations. According to the released results, boys dominated the top positions in the Balochistan Board matric exams, delivering an outstanding performance across the province.

Ahmed, a student of Balochistan Residential College, secured first position across the province with 1,051 marks. Matiullah of Balochistan Residential College, Zhob, stood second with 1,050 marks, while two students from Balochistan Residential College, Loralai, Younis Khan and Muhammad Mudassar, jointly secured third position.

According to the Board’s announcement, a total of 77,251 candidates appeared in the 10th-grade examinations, out of which 68,902 students passed. The overall pass percentage for the 10th grade was 89.32%.

Meanwhile, in the 9th-grade examinations, 50,400 students passed out of 68,517 candidates. Interestingly, the pass percentage for the 9th grade was also 89.32%, the same as for the 10th grade. A ceremony to honour the position holders will be held soon.

Inter-Board Coordination Commission releases report

The Inter-Board Coordination Commission has released a detailed report on the Matriculation Annual Examinations 2025.

According to the report, more than 500,000 students failed the matriculation examinations across the country, with the highest failure rate recorded in the 9 education boards of Punjab.

In Punjab, more than 1.226 million students appeared in the examination, and over 358,000 students failed. In the Lahore Board, out of 253,000 matriculation candidates, 87,419 students were unable to pass.

In the eight education boards of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 444,000 students appeared in the examination, and 80,558 failed. The matriculation results were comparatively better in the six education boards of Sindh, where out of 450,000 students, only 51,000 failed.

In the Quetta Board of Balochistan, 78,839 students participated in the exams, of whom 9,797 failed. Meanwhile, the Federal Board showed better results, where out of 137,000 students, 15,798 students failed.
