Train services across Balochistan to be suspended tomorrow

Pakistan Railways has announced that train services in Balochistan will be suspended on March 27.

Railway officials said the suspension is temporary. It is due to technical reasons and repair work on the railway track. The step has been taken to ensure passenger safety.

According to officials, the Jaffar Express, which departs from Quetta to Peshawar, will not run on March 27.

The Jaffar Express coming from Peshawar to Quetta will be returned from Jacobabad.

Railway authorities also said that the Bolan Mail from Quetta to Karachi and the Chaman Passenger train operating on the Chaman route are already suspended.

Pakistan Railways said a new schedule will be issued once the repair work is completed. Passengers have been advised to make alternative travel arrangements.

Train derails near Lodhran

The Tezgam Express, travelling from Peshawar to Karachi, derailed near Lodhran in South Punjab. The incident caused panic among passengers.

Rescue teams rushed to the scene and immediately began relief operations, assisting those affected.

Pakistan Railways introduces special trains for Eid

Pakistan Railways previously decided to run four special trains for passengers on the occasion of Eid ul Fitr 2026. The decision was taken on the direction of Railways Minister Hanif Abbasi.

According to a notification issued on Sunday, the first Eid special train will leave Lahore for Karachi on March 16.

The second special train will depart from Quetta for Rawalpindi on March 17. The third train will leave Karachi for Peshawar on the same day.

The fourth Eid special train will run from Karachi to Lahore on March 18.

Pakistan Railways said these special trains are being operated to provide better travel facilities to passengers during the Eid holidays.
