Bangladesh national cricket team created history by defeating Pakistan national cricket team on its home soil for the first time in Test cricket and also completed a hat-trick of Test victories against Pakistan.
The first match of the two-Test series between Pakistan and Bangladesh was played at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, where the hosts secured a memorable win to complete three consecutive Test victories over Pakistan.
On the fifth and final day, Bangladesh declared their second innings at 240 for 9 shortly before lunch, setting Pakistan a target of 268 runs for victory.
However, Pakistan’s batting line-up collapsed again and the entire team was bowled out for 163 runs. Bangladesh won the match by a massive margin of 104 runs.
Despite having several experienced players, Pakistan failed to survive even two sessions. Captain Shan Masood struggled in the second innings as well, just like in the first.
For Pakistan, Abdullah Fazal was the top scorer once again. He scored a half-century in the second innings and made 66 runs.
Salman Ali Agha scored 26 runs, while Azan Awais, Saud Shakeel and Mohammad Rizwan managed only 15 runs each.
Five Pakistani batters failed to even reach double figures.
