Bangladesh have climbed three places to a career-best sixth position in the ICC Test Team Rankings following their historic two-match tour of Australia. The rise sees the Tigers move ahead of both Sri Lanka and Pakistan, marking a significant milestone for Bangladesh in Test cricket.

The Bengal Tigers are now sixth with 1,878 points, while Sri Lanka sit seventh with 1,222 points and Pakistan are eighth with 1,427 points. Australia remain at the top of the rankings, followed by South Africa in second and New Zealand in third. India and England occupy fourth and fifth places, respectively.

Bangladesh began their Australian tour with a historic nine-wicket victory over the hosts in the first Test at the Marrara Stadium, recording their first-ever Test win on Australian soil. It is worth mentioning here that the ICC released its latest ODI and Test rankings in June, highlighting strong performances by Pakistani players and several notable changes.

In the ODI bowlers’ rankings, Pakistan spinner Abrar Ahmed has made a significant rise, climbing seven places to fourth with 633 rating points. Pakistan’s ODI captain, Shaheen Shah Afridi, has also improved his position, moving up four places to 13th. Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan remains at the top of the ODI bowlers’ rankings, followed by England’s Jofra Archer in second and South Africa’s Keshav Maharaj in third. There has been no major change in the top 10 of the ODI batting rankings. New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell remains in first place, followed by India’s Virat Kohli in second and Afghanistan’s Ibrahim Zadran in third.
