BCB ex-chief Aminul Islam rejects claims of ICC funding freeze request

Former Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Aminul Islam has strongly denied reports suggesting he asked the International Cricket Council (ICC) to halt funding for the BCB.

In a video statement, he dismissed the claim as “completely false,” saying no such request was ever made and that it is not even possible for him to do so.

Aminul also said certain individuals are trying to create controversy around him, but insisted they have always failed and will continue to fail.

In a video statement, Aminul Islam said that he had seen the news alleging that he asked the ICC to suspend funding for the BCB, calling it a complete lie. He added that such a request was never made by him and is not possible.

He further said that certain individuals are trying to create problems for him, but they have always failed and will continue to fail.

The former BCB president stated that he would never make any request to the ICC that could harm Bangladesh. He also questioned why the ICC would listen to him, noting that he no longer has access to the organisation.

It is worth noting that earlier, Bangladeshi media reports claimed that Aminul Islam Bulbul had written a letter to the ICC requesting a freeze on Bangladesh Cricket Board funding. The reports also alleged that he had asked to be reinstated as BCB president.

On the other hand, Pakistan’s white-ball head coach Mike Hesson has said that players need to be fit and strong to meet the demands of international cricket.

Speaking exclusively to PCB Digital during the ongoing white-ball camp at the National Cricket Academy (NCA), Hesson said the purpose of the camp is to improve players’ fitness, conditioning, and skills so they are better prepared for major future competitions.

He added that the white-ball camp began on June 15 at the NCA in Lahore, where white-ball specialists and players selected for future planning are taking part. Around 27 to 28 players are currently participating in the camp.
