The body of famous American rapper Lil Jon’s son, Nathan Smith who also goes by DJ Young Slade, has been recovered in a pond in Georgia after days of him being reported as missing.
Jonathan H. Smith aka Lil Jon, expressed great remorse for the untimely demise of his son in a post on Instagram. He wrote, “I am extremely heartbroken for the tragic loss of our son, Nathan Smith. His mother, Nicole Smith, and I are devastated.”
“Nathan was the kindest human being you would ever meet. He was immensely caring, thoughtful, polite, passionate and warmhearted, he loved his family and the friends in his life to the fullest…”, the record producer added.
The Milton Police Department have now released a statement saying that there was no evidence indicating foul play based on the investigation to date.
Case to remain open
Earlier on February 3, the police had issued a missing persons alert after the artist allegedly ran out of his house at 3 a.m. The young artist had left his home without his phone. He was last seen appearing disoriented and in need of potential assistance, leaving friends and family in distress.
They further alleged that they were contacted by Nathan’s disappearance on Tuesday.
Rescue teams including divers from the Cherokee County Fire Department found a body in a pond near the family’s residence, a city 48 km north of Atlanta. The body was discovered at 11.53 a.m. on February 6.
The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office is expected to complete the official identification of the recovered body which is believed to be of Lil Jon’s son.
According to the police, the case remains an open and active investigation with existing leads under thorough examination until the official cause becomes evident.
