Bondi Hero Ahmed recovers in the hospital, with the public making donations

SYDNEY: Bondi Hero Ahmed al Ahmed was taken to the hospital after he was shot by one of the attackers at Bondi Beach. This citizen of Australia managed to take a rifle away from one of the two suspected attackers.

The fruit and vegetable vendor was being impulsive in the protection of the populace. In addition, the heroic father-of-two was shot twice on his arm and on his hand.

He is still staying in the St George Hospital after his first surgery.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese commended Ahmed on his fast actions. He called them an illustration of the finest side of humanity.

Likewise, the New South Wales Premier Chris Minns went to Ahmed to express his gratitude to the people. Minns described him as a real-life hero.

The father of Ahmed told the media that his son had worked in the police. Notably, he noticed the blood and ran into danger.

People sympathized swiftly with the 43-year-old. More than A$1.1 million has now been raised by a GoFundMe campaign.

This colossal amount exceeded the expectations within a single day. Moreover, there were high-profile donors such as billionaire Bill Ackman, who donated large sums. People came to the hospital as strangers to bring flowers and give assistance.

The fundraising is to cater to his fast recovery and provide assistance to his family. The terror attack took the lives of many people, but Ahmed managed to save them because of his courage. Sixteen people were killed in the Hanukkah party because of the incident.
