Bondi Beach shooter has Indian roots: The Print exposes Indian media’s anti-Pakistan propaganda

Web desk: Indian media’s anti-Pakistan propaganda regarding the Bondi Beach shooter‘s nationality was exposed as an Indian news outlet, The Print, brought facts to light on Tuesday.

The Indian online newspaper has exposed the anti-Pakistan propaganda by the Indian media that claimed that the Bondi Beach attacker was a Pakistani.

As per the news article, Bondi Beach attacker Sajid Akram moved from India to Australia.

The Bondi Beach shooter had immigrated from India in 1998, while his son was born in Australia, The Print reports.

It further adds, “Sources in the security establishment told ThePrint that Sajid Akram, 50, hailed from Hyderabad in Telangana. Sajid was shot dead by the police at the crime scene on Sunday. His son Naveed Akram had citizenship of Australia, they added.”

The report confirms that Sajid Akram was a resident of Hyderabad, Telangana, in India. There is no evidence whatsoever of any Pakistani connection.

Sajid Akram, who was killed in the Bondi Beach incident, was of Indian origin, while his son, Naveed Akram, is a natural-born Australian citizen.

“He hailed from Old Hyderabad city and still has family here, including two brothers,” The Print reported.

The report further adds that Sajid did not travel to India when his father died sometime in 2009. The outlet further states that Sajid last visited India as recently as 2022.

Despite the facts, the Indian and Israeli media rushed to blame Pakistan as soon as the attacker’s name surfaced. It launched an aggressive campaign built on misinformation.

The Print further reported that Australian authorities sought relevant details from India, with no reference at any point to Pakistan.

Investigations have also exposed the Indian media’s use of fake social media profiles in an attempt to malign Pakistan.

The Bondi Beach incident has once again laid bare the Indian media’s false-flag narrative, observers say.

Analysts report that the anti-Pakistan campaign, rooted in falsehoods, has ultimately collapsed under the weight of the Indian media’s own reporting.

Bondi Beach shooters travelled to Philippines as Indian nationals

The Philippines officials confirmed that the father and son who carried out the deadly attack on Bondi Beach visited the country in November on Indian passports.

According to a BBC report quoting the Philippines’ immigration bureau, the two alleged Bondi gunmen travelled to the Philippines on 1 November and left on 28 November.

Sajid Akram, 50, travelled using an Indian passport, while his son, Naveed, 24, used an Australian passport, immigration spokesperson Dana Sandoval revealed.

They declared the southern city of Davao as their final destination in the country. And their return flight to Australia was for Sydney, he said.
