Cal Raleigh is being hailed as the best offensive game of his career, as he went viral online with his three home runs in a single game for the Seattle Mariners, who went on to defeat the Philadelphia Phillies 9-2.
The Mariners catcher had the incredible outing Monday night and hit the first homer in the first inning, followed by two solo homers in the fifth and seventh innings. It was the first three home run game of Raleigh’s MLB career.
Raleigh was 3-for-3 with a walk and his three homers gave him a season total of 17. It was also Seattle’s performance that broke the Phillies’ 9-game losing streak.
The feat was significant because Raleigh was coming off a 12-game losing streak and was hitting .159. His three-homer game put him back in the spotlight as his average jumped to .167.
It was also the first time that Raleigh has recorded the win in his career. His breakout night was ramping up the excitement as he became the first Seattle player to drive in three homers at T-Mobile Park.
The catcher’s performance is the latest in an incredible 2025 campaign that saw him finish second to the American League MVP, with 125 RBIs and Major League Baseball’s league-best 60 home runs.
Raleigh’s three homers took to social media and soon fans were celebrating the resurgence of the player who is known for his nickname, “Big Dumper.”
Now, with his historic three-homer evening, Raleigh has become one of the biggest baseball talking points of all time, and it’s not been long enough on social media.
