The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has restored bus service between Fateh Jang and Islamabad following a request from Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan.
According to a statement issued by the governor, the suspension of the service had created difficulties for students, government and private-sector employees, and other daily commuters travelling between the two areas.
Taking notice of the public’s concerns, Governor Saleem Haider contacted CDA Chairman Sohail Ashraf and requested that the bus service be reinstated to facilitate commuters.
The service provides an affordable transportation option, with passengers paying Rs50 per trip. The governor’s statement stressed the importance of the route for people who rely on public transport amid rising living costs.
Governor Saleem Haider thanked the CDA chairman for responding to his request and cooperating in restoring the service for the convenience of the public.
The restoration comes after an earlier announcement regarding changes to Islamabad’s feeder bus network, which included the discontinuation of the FR-13 route connecting Golra with Fateh Jang.
The reinstatement of the service is expected to provide relief to commuters who depend on affordable public transport for their daily journeys between Fateh Jang and Islamabad.
