Master Changan Motors Limited (MCML) has reached a significant milestone by commencing volume production of the Deepal S05 REEV which is the first locally assembled premium Range Extended Electric SUV of Pakistan.
This is an important step forward for the country’s auto industry and highlights the position of Master Changan as the fourth largest brand in the automotive sector in Pakistan and one of the top-selling brands with sales exceeding 65,000 customers nationwide.
After its unveiling at Pakistan Auto Show 2025 (PAPS) on November 14th, now the Deepal S05 REEV is in the phase of delivery.
Production is being done at MCML’s contemporary manufacturing plant in Karachi. Using cutting-edge robotics and new production systems, the company was able to shift from equipment installation to full-scale production in less than 90 days.
The launch of the S05 REEV is an expression of the Master Changan’s new brand philosophy, “Moving the New Generation.” This vision is to bring in NEVs (New Energy Vehicles) in Pakistan.
The goal is to make the shift to electric mobility easier by providing solutions suitable for the local infrastructure and driving conditions.
Speaking regarding the achievement, MCML’s CEO Danial Malik stated that the company’s goal is not only to launch new vehicles but to bring innovation that is functional to Pakistan.
He added that the S05 REEV addresses important customer concerns, in particular, range anxiety, and offers a true electric driving experience.
The Deepal S05 REEV has a combined driving range of more than 1000 kilometres. Unlike conventional hybrids and plug-in hybrids, S05 REEV is purely electric driven and provides instant torque.
It is powered by a 27.28kWh Golden Shield Battery while an onboard range extender only functions as a generator to recharge the battery when necessary.
Based on the Changan’s EPA1 pure electric platform, S05 has a balanced weight layout to achieve smoother handling.
