Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz Sharif stated on Sunday that the Punjab government is dedicated to creating a ‘digital Punjab’ and fostering an educational revolution in her message for World Telecommunication Day.
The Chief Minister mentioned that telecommunications and technology have become powerful tools in today’s world, emphasising that telecommunication is not just a way to communicate but a route to new opportunities.
She noted that 5G digital telecommunication would usher in a revolution in Punjab and throughout Pakistan, highlighting that advancements in telecommunication technology are crucial for leveraging artificial intelligence (AI).
CM Maryam Nawaz further pointed out that e-governance and e-business have been effectively implemented in Punjab using telecommunication technologies.
In light of turning Punjab fully digital, she also mentioned that regular training programs are being held to connect the youth with global IT and telecommunication markets.
The Chief Minister added that the creation of Nawaz Sharif IT City would lead to major improvements in the communication system.
Punjab to build first ever free government cancer hospital
Earlier, Punjab Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique stated that the Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cancer Treatment and Research Center will be the first fully free government cancer hospital in Pakistan, ensuring that no patient is denied treatment.
He made these comments during a visit to the hospital, which is currently under construction, accompanied by Chairman Board and former Chief Secretary of Punjab, Captain (retd) Zahid Saeed, and Health Economist Dr. Muhammad Adnan Khan, to assess the project’s ongoing progress.
