CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz takes notice of PConnect's post, announces reward for Taekwondo star

Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz, while taking notice of PakistanConnect’s post, has announced a cash prize for 14 year old Taekwondo star, Ayesha Ayaz from Swat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

Following the instructions of the Punjab CM, Sports Board Punjab agreed upon granting a cash prize of Rs300,000 to Ayesha Ayaz.

PakistanConnect had previously reported on the young athlete’s achievements, significantly amplifying her voice and bringing the matter to the government’s attention.

Provincial Minister for Sports Faisal Ayub Akhtar Khokhar, also the spokesperson of Sports Board Punjab, presented Ayesha with a check alongside a personal additional amount of Rs100,000.

During the ceremony, Ayesha expressed gratitude for the reward and said that the government patronage plays a crucial role in raising the morale of young athletes.

Vice Chairman Malik Suleman and Secretary Sports Muhammad Ali were also present at the ceremony.

Who is Ayesha Ayaz

Ayesha Ayaz is Pakistan’s youngest Taekwondo athlete, who has brought glory to the country by winning 11 international medals at only the age of 14. She has won over 150 medals at both national and international levels.

The Provincial Sports Minister called the young star a national pride, while wishing her the best for the future. He also hoped that she would represent Pakistan at the Olympics in the near future.
