The price of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) has increased across Pakistan.
The authorities have reasoned the price increase to a series of upward adjustments in petrol and diesel rates, adding further pressure on already strained household and transport budgets.
According to industry sources, petroleum companies have implemented the latest revision in CNG prices amid continued volatility in the energy market and rising input costs linked to transport fuels.
The increase has been reflected in most major cities, where CNG rates have risen immediately, pushing up average fuel expenses for motorists and public transport operators.
Commuters say the repeated adjustments are making daily travel increasingly expensive at a time when many are already struggling with inflationary pressures. Transport operators also warn that higher fuel costs are likely to be passed on to passengers through increased fares.
Industry observers attribute the latest hike to fluctuations in international oil prices, alongside supply-side pressures affecting the energy sector.

They add that geopolitical tensions in the Middle East have disrupted global energy flows, contributing to higher crude oil prices and wider uncertainty in fuel markets.
Several vehicle owners have expressed concern over the frequency of price changes, saying repeated increases have significantly raised the cost of commuting and running vehicles.
Experts caution that if global energy markets remain unstable and currency exchange rates continue to fluctuate, further revisions in fuel prices could be expected in the coming weeks.
They stated that domestic CNG pricing typically follows international market trends as well as local cost pressures.
