Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has vowed to take indiscriminate action against encroachments across the province, declaring that no political recommendation will be entertained in efforts to reclaim encroached land.
Speaking to the media during a visit to inspect the ongoing anti-encroachment operation in Peshawar, the governor said the campaign would continue across the province, and all encroachments would be removed without discrimination.
“We will clean up the entire province, and wherever encroachments exist, they will be eliminated,” Kundi said, adding that no political figure would be allowed to influence the operation through recommendations.
He maintained that action would be taken wherever illegal occupation and encroachments were found.
Action on wheat report and development projects
The governor said action would also be taken once the report concerning wheat was received.
He added that development projects intended to benefit the public would be completed soon. Those responsible for launching projects allegedly for financial gains rather than public welfare would also face action, he said.
Load-shedding and electricity theft
Commenting on the persistent problem of load-shedding, Kundi said efforts were underway to address the issue.
“The days of electricity theft are over,” he said, stressing the importance of recovering electricity bills to ensure power generation and a sustainable supply.
He questioned how electricity could be generated without adequate bill recovery, while clarifying that there was no confrontation between the federal government and the provincial government.
The governor also said the provincial government would maintain better relations with all provinces.
Road access and traffic regulations
Kundi announced that the route in front of the Peshawar High Court would be reopened on the same day.
He further said traffic laws would be enforced in the city to improve traffic management and facilitate commuters.
The governor’s remarks came as the administration continued its anti-encroachment campaign in Peshawar, targeting illegal structures and obstructions as part of broader efforts to improve urban management and public access.
