The federal capital’s famous D-Chowk is all set to host a special city parade once again after a gap of 12 years.
A special Independence Day City Parade is being held at D-Chowk in Islamabad today to mark Pakistan’s Independence Day. Citizens have been invited to attend the event with their families.
Announcing the event in a message on social media platform X, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said D-Chowk would once again come alive with festivities after 12 years.
He said a special city parade would be held at D-Chowk Islamabad today as part of Pakistan’s Independence Day celebrations and invited citizens to join the national festivities with their families.

Mohsin Naqvi urged Pakistanis to become part of the event and celebrate the spirit, pride and national unity of their beloved homeland together.
The interior minister said the special event would take place at 5pm today at D-Chowk. Addressing citizens directly, he wrote, “See you at D-Chowk at 5pm today.”
He concluded his message with the slogan, “Pakistan Zindabad.”

D-Chowk is considered one of the most important locations in Islamabad. Situated near Parliament House, Aiwan-e-Sadr and other key government buildings, the area holds a unique significance in Pakistan’s political and national activities.
After a 12-year gap, the decision to hold a special Independence Day city parade at the location has further highlighted its importance. The event aims to celebrate Independence Day at the public level while promoting national unity and a strong sense of attachment to the country.
