Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar engaged in a conversation with Canadian Foreign Minister (FM) Anita Anand. They assessed the current regional developments.
Canadian FM acknowledged and voiced her support for Pakistan’s ongoing initiatives aimed at fostering sustained dialogue and constructive engagement among the involved parties.
Both parties expressed optimism for enduring peace and a lasting ceasefire throughout the region, including Lebanon, while reiterating their dedication to broader stability and collaboration.
Previously, Ishaq Dar conducted a telephonic discussion with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi, concentrating on the evolving regional dynamics and ongoing diplomatic initiatives in the Middle East.
As per a statement released by the Foreign Office of Pakistan, the two leaders shared insights regarding the latest developments in Iran-US negotiations and the overall regional context, with a specific focus on preserving stability in an increasingly unstable environment.
Both parties stressed on the necessity of tackling immediate challenges through dialogue and ongoing diplomatic channels, highlighting the importance of coordinated efforts to prevent escalation.
Deputy PM in talks with Bahrain FM
Earlier, Deputy PM, Ishaq Dar, held a telephonic conversation with Bahrain’s Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani.
Both leaders discussed the ongoing tensions in the Middle East due to the conflict between Iran, Israel and the US. They also discussed ongoing UN matters and agreed on the significance of peace and stability in the region.
The development comes amid preparations for the second round of negotiations between the United States (US) and Iran after a failure to reach an agreement during the first phase of Islamabad talks.
After the negotiations are over, the US President, Trump, and the leaders of various other nations are expected to pay a visit to Islamabad.
