Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR), Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, addressed an important press conference today.

False flag operation by Indian Army

He briefed the press on a false flag operation in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) that had been staged by the Indian Army.
He stated that on the night of September 29, an Indian Army corps made a post on social media.
The Indian corps claimed that a terrorist had been killed and that the body of a terrorist had been recovered.
Around seven and a half hours later, the Indian military issued another update, he said. On September 30, India claimed that the body of a terrorist had been found. It identified the man as Muhammad Asif alias Hashim Musa and claimed that he was from Pakistan.
The Indian agency also shared details of the man along with a service number.
DG ISPR Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said India later linked the name Asif Ilyas to the person it claimed had been killed.

DG ISPR presents retired Havaldar Asif alias Musa in front of media

He said Muhammad Asif was sitting in front of everyone at the media briefing.
The DG ISPR then presented Muhammad Asif before the media. Asif Ilyas also spoke to the media and shared his side of the story.
Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said Indian media had claimed that the person killed was Muhammad Asif, a Havaldar of the Special Services Group (SSG).
India also claimed that three more had been killed along with Asif alias Musa.

‘How could they kill me when I was at home?’

Muhammad Asif said his friends called him after seeing news reports from India about him. They told him that India had claimed he had been killed.
He said he was surprised by the claim because he was safe at home. He also checked social media and found the same reports there.
Asif said he received many calls after the news spread. Some calls were also from India. He blocked the numbers and informed his seniors about the situation.
“Alhamdulillah, I am alive and standing before you,” Asif said. He added that he had served the country bravely in the past and was still ready to serve it in the future.
The former SSG Havaldar strongly rejected what he called Indian propaganda and a false flag operation against him.
DG ISPR Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said the Indian government later released details about the case.
He said the Indian government claimed that the person killed was Muhammad Asif, an SSG Havaldar. It also showed his identity card.
However, Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said there were differences between the claims made by the Indian military and the Indian government.
He said India also claimed success in “Operation Sheruwali”. The operation had reportedly started in May. He questioned how India could claim success in an operation months later.
He said such reports brought back memories of the Uri and Pahalgam incidents.

DG ISPR holds special meeting with students

Earlier, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry held a special meeting with students and faculty members of Fatima Jinnah Women University in Rawalpindi.
During the meeting, the DG ISPR answered the students’ questions in detail.
The question-and-answer session gave students a chance to learn facts about national issues. It also helped clear several doubts and misunderstandings.
