Digital driving licence introduced in KP

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government introduced a digital licence facility for citizens across the province to modernise the driving licence system.

Under the new system, citizens will no longer need to carry a physical copy of their driving licence with them at all times. They can access their digital licence through the relevant mobile application by entering their CNIC number.

The digital driving licence can be obtained within moments and displayed on a mobile phone whenever required.

Chief Traffic Officer Peshawar Zahid Ullah said introducing the digital driving licence was an important step toward the effective use of technology in the traffic police system.

Traffic police officials in Peshawar have been directed to accept the digital driving licence as a valid legal document. Citizens will also not be fined for showing a digital licence instead of a physical copy.

On the other hand, the Punjab government has introduced a new facility for driving license applicants across the province, the private media outlet reported on Friday.

According to the details, driving license applicants can now obtain a “learner license” from any Police E-Khidmat Markaz across Punjab.

The “learner license” remains valid for six months. It is important to mention that the driving license applicants can visit E-Khidmat Markaz from 9 am to 5 pm.

For more details, the applicants can visit ekhidmat.punjab.gov.pk or call the Khidmat Markaz helpline. To call the helpline, the applicants can dial 1317.
