Major relief: Driving licenses now available on same day

In Punjab, learner and regular driving licenses will now be issued on the same day, marking a major facilitation for motorcyclists. According to details, the Punjab Traffic Police has announced a significant change in the licensing process aimed at improving convenience for citizens.

Under the new policy, motorcyclists will be able to obtain both a learner permit and a regular driving license within a single day. A traffic police spokesperson stated that the initiative is designed to reduce delays in license issuance and encourage citizens to adopt legal driving practices.

Statistics show that 2.354 million motorcycle licenses have been issued across Punjab so far this year, including more than 1 million regular driving licenses. Additionally, over 6.71 million citizens have renewed their licenses, while 7.10 million people have benefited from learner-related services.

DIG Traffic Muhammad Waqas Nazir said that one of the major causes of road accidents is riding motorcycles without a valid license. He added that strict action is being taken against unlicensed drivers and urged citizens to obtain their licenses immediately to avoid heavy fines and legal complications.

Previously, applicants had to wait around 42 days after obtaining a learner’s permit to receive a regular license. However, the process has now been streamlined, allowing the public to obtain licenses without any delay.
