A Lahore sessions court has extended the interim bail of Aroob Jatoi wife of well-known YouTuber Ducky Bhai until March 24 in a case related to the promotion of online gambling.
During the court hearing Aroob Jatoi appeared before the court along with her lawyers. During the proceedings the NCCIA investigating officer requested the court to order a forensic analysis of the accused’s mobile phone to ensure greater transparency in the investigation and verification of evidence.
The court accepted the investigating officer’s request and directed that a forensic report of the mobile phone be prepared. However the defense counsel argued that the forensic report could not be completed within one or two weeks and requested the court to schedule the next hearing for a suitable date after Ramadan.
Judge Mansoor Qureshi adjourned the hearing until March 24 and clearly directed that the accused must ensure her presence in court at the next hearing. The court further said that exemption from appearance during interim bail would no longer be granted and legal action would be taken in case of any future absence.
It is worth noting that the NCCIA has registered a case against Aroob Jatoi on charges of promoting online gambling and investigations are ongoing.
Legal troubles
Ducky’s troubles began in August when authorities arrested him at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport. The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency accused him of promoting unlicensed online gambling and betting apps, alleging his endorsements caused financial losses for the public.
He was placed under both physical and judicial remand while investigations continued under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016, and the Pakistan Penal Code. During detention, Ducky claimed he suffered both physical and verbal abuse while in custody.
Despite these challenges, Ducky has returned to YouTube, appearing in another viral post-jail vlog alongside Instagram-famous kids Moiz and Sami.
