E-stamping system will be fully implemented in Islamabad from Monday
The primary objective of introducing this digital system is to reduce fraud, streamline processes and ensure improved record-keeping in stamp duty transactions.
The Islamabad district administration has earlier announced the abolition of paper stamp papers with effect from January 26.
According to an official letter issued by Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Irfan Memon to the Federal Treasury Office, the issuance of all types of paper stamp papers will be discontinued from January 26.
However, the letter clarifies that stamp papers issued prior to this date will remain valid and can be used until their expiry.
Officials said the move is part of broader efforts to modernise the stamp duty management system in the federal capital.
The district administration described the introduction of e-stamping as a significant step toward improving transparency and ease of doing business.
Authorities believe the digital system will help reduce fraud, streamline processes, and ensure better record-keeping in stamp duty transactions.
It is worth mentioning here that the e-stamping system is a secure, web-based electronic mechanism for paying non-judicial stamp duty to the government. It replaces traditional paper stamps, helping to curb fraud and streamline official transactions. Through the system, users generate a 32-A challan form online, make payment at designated banks.
