Earthquake tremors felt across parts of Pakistan

On the morning of April 18, earthquake tremors were felt in Islamabad and some other parts of Pakistan. The earthquake was felt from 7:54 am to 7:56 am.

The remors were also felt in Lower Dir and Para Chinar. Other than these, Peshawar, Swat and Malakand also felt the tremors of the earthquake. Tremors were also felt in Mardan.

It has been estimated that the earthquake had a magnitude of 5.4. The affected countries include Pakistan, India, Tajikistan and Afghanistan.

The earthquake originated 47 km from Garam Chashma. Garam Chashma is one of the highest human settlements and is located in Pakistan.

The tremors were felt in different parts of Pakistan, and people ran out of their homes in a hurry to protect themselves.

Recently, on March 14, a similar incident took place in Karachi. Tremors of an earthquake were felt in major parts of Karachi, which included Malir, Landhi and Korangi.

The Department of Weather reported that the magnitude of the earthquake was 4.0 and was recorded at a depth of 10 kilometres.

The epicentre was located 100 kilometres south of Karachi. The earthquake was reported at 1:27 am.

Recently, Pakistan has experienced multiple earthquakes in the past few months. However, that is not a cause for worrying.

Similarly, on April 3, another earthquake was felt in Skardu, Islamabad, Lahore, Faisalabad and Peshawar. The tremors of this earthquake were reported to be of a 6.3 magnitude. The depth was reported to be 190 kilometres.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department’s National Seismic Monitoring Centre (NSMC) reported that the earthquake occurred at 9:13 pm.

The epicentre of this earthquake is located in Afghanistan’s Hindu Kush region at latitude 36.48°N and longitude 70.84°E.
