Fake challan SMS scam

Previously, the Karachi Traffic Police had cautioned residents against a growing number of fake text messages claiming to be official traffic challans.

These messages, sent from personal mobile numbers, request that citizens pay fines through EasyPaisa.

According to the department, the SMS alerts are “misleading” and have “no connection with Karachi Traffic Police or any government department.”
