On Sunday, Egypt made history by defeating New Zealand 3-1 in the Group G game. The win was extremely important for Egypt as it was the first win ever for the country in a World Cup.

The significant victory will enable Egypt to advance to the tournament’s knockout stages for the first time in its history.

In the early stages of the game, in the 15th minute, New Zealand surprised Egypt with a lead.

Finn Surman got a well-placed pass from a teammate and scored with a powerful header to give them a 1-0 lead.

Egypt responded rapidly, and was determined to resist. Egypt attacked with all their might and the ball was passed to Mostafa Zico who equalised the score of the match with a header.

The aim boosted Egypt’s self-assurance and they began to exert greater pressure on New Zealand.

Mohamed Salah assisted Egypt in claiming the possession of the ball in the second half.

Salah then had an opportunity to work together with Zico in the 67th minute, and he left-footed the ball into the net in a stunning display.

With his strike, Egypt moved into the lead and changed the game’s direction (2-1).

Egypt finished off the score with a Salah creating an opportunity for the substitute Trezeguet who scored the third goal and made the score 3-1.

The victory pushed Egypt to Group G’s first place with four points. They only need to draw their game against Iran to qualify for the knockouts.

Salah said the win is a historic moment and congratulated Egypt’s fans on making it a home game for the team.

Egypt will now be seeking to build on their impressive World Cup run and hopefully win their first football World Cup.
