Eid prayers timings for Islamabad, Rawalpindi announced

Faisal Mosque, the largest mosque in Islamabad, will hold Eid-ul-Azha prayers at 6:30 am on Eid day.

According to the announced schedule, the Eid prayer at Faisal Mosque will be led by DG Dawah Academy Dr Muhammad Ilyas.

Several other major mosques in Islamabad and Rawalpindi have also announced Eid prayer timings:

  • Jamia Islamabad I-8 Markaz, Mufti Dr Muhammad Zafar Iqbal Jalali at 6:00 am
  • Central Eidgah Sharif Rawalpindi, Maulana Hafiz Muhammad Iqbal Rizvi at 6:30 am
  • Jamia Masjid Anwar-e-Madina, A-Block Media Town, Mufti Dr Muhammad Zahoor Jalali at 6:45 am
  • Jamia Masjid D-Block Media Town, Eid prayer at 6:15 am
  • Jamia Masjid C-Block Media Town, Mufti Muhammad Jahangir at 7:00 am
  • Jamia Masjid Ghousia Tehkhana Wali, Azizabad, Allama Muhammad Haider Alvi at 6:30 am
  • Idara Taleemat-e-Islamia, G-11 Sector, Allama Pir Syed Riaz Hussain Shah at 8:00 am
  • Astana Aliya Naqshbandia Aliya, Street 7-B Bhara Kahu, Pir Ubaid Ahmad Ubaid at 6:45 am
  • Markazi Jamia Masjid Muhammad Jan, Tench Bhata Rawalpindi, Maulana Raza ul Mustafa Noorani at 7:30 am

Authorities have advised citizens to arrive early at mosques and Eidgahs to avoid congestion and ensure smooth arrangements for Eid al-Adha prayers.

Eid-ul-Azha holidays announced in Punjab

The Punjab government had earlier announced three public holidays for Eid-ul-Azha 2026 across the province.

According to an official notification issued by the Services and General Administration Department in Lahore, public holidays for Eid-ul-Azha 2026 will be observed from May 26 to May 28.

During these days, all government offices and public institutions in Punjab will remain closed for the Eid-ul-Azha holidays.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government has also announced public holidays for Eid-ul-Azha in the province.

Earlier, the federal government approved Eid ul Azha holidays 2026 across Pakistan from May 26 to May 28.

Meanwhile, the Central Ruet e Hilal Committee had announced that Eid ul Azha 2026 would be celebrated in Pakistan after the Zil hajj moon was sighted on May 27.

The announcement was made at the Meteorological Department office in Karachi after a meeting; the zonal and district Ruet e Hilal committees in other cities of Pakistan were also holding simultaneous meetings.

In the meantime, markets for cattle are extremely busy in the country in preparation for Eid ul Azha.
