Under the vision of Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, Government of Balochistan has introduced an Electric Bike Scheme for the empowerment of the youth and women of the province.

The initiative is aimed to make eco-friendly transport accessible as well as supporting students and working women who depend on cheap mobility.

As per the scheme announced, the total cost of an electric bike is around Rs175,000.

To make the bikes affordable, the provincial government is set to offer a 30 per cent subsidy on the bikes that amounts to Rs52,500 per bike.

This subsidy is important to reduce the financial burden for the applicants and ensure the adoption of electric vehicle mobility in the province.

Applicants who are selected under the scheme will have to make a down payment of Rs17,500 initially.

The rest of the amount will be paid in easy monthly installments which would make the initiative more viable for students and female professionals.

Successful applicants will make a monthly instalment of Rs4,773 for a period of two years that will amount to a total of 24 months.

Interested people may apply on the official portal ebike.balochistan.gov.pk. During the application process they must enter their personal information and select whether they are youth, or women.

After that, they will have to upload all the necessary documents for the verification process. After reviewing their details, the applicants can submit their forms online.

A transparent balloting process will then be done, and those whose names are selected in the draw can be eligible to receive the electric bikes.
