Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced the provision of seven additional electric buses for Sargodha to expand the city’s public transport services.

The announcement was made during a meeting between Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and members of the Punjab Assembly from Sargodha.

Those who attended the meeting included Provincial Minister Sohaib Ahmed Malik, Mansoor Azam, Mian Sultan Ranjha, Ikram-ul-Haq, Safdar Hussain Sahi, Rana Munawar Hussain, Taimur Ali Khan and Sardar Asim Sher Maken.

The provincial lawmakers congratulated the chief minister on the establishment and completion of the Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cardiology in Sargodha within a record period. They also thanked her for launching electric bus services in the city.

During the meeting, CM Maryam Nawaz announced seven more electric buses for Sargodha and directed the lawmakers to closely monitor the Model Village, Suthra Punjab Programme and clean water projects.

The meeting also reviewed proposals and recommendations aimed at accelerating ongoing development projects. The lawmakers briefed the chief minister on positive public feedback regarding various development initiatives.

According to the provincial assembly members, thousands of people are benefiting daily from electric bus services in Bhalwal, Bhera, Sillanwali, University, DHQ, Shaheenabad, Kot Momin and Tehsil Sahiwal.

They described the establishment of the Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cardiology in Sargodha as a landmark and unforgettable initiative, adding that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s welfare projects are being appreciated both within Pakistan and abroad.

CM Maryam Nawaz said she was pleased to see women and children travelling comfortably on electric buses. She said every city, including Sargodha, was being put on the path of development and that all available resources would be utilised to facilitate the public.

She added that ensuring development across every part of Punjab without discrimination was part of the vision of Nawaz Sharif.
