Heavy rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning has caused a large pothole on a walking track in Islamabad’s F-6/1 sector, raising concerns among residents about public safety and infrastructure conditions.
The pothole emerged following heavy rain in the federal capital, creating difficulties for pedestrians using the walking track.
Citizens have been advised to remain cautious and stay away from streams, nullahs and other waterways amid the risk of rising water levels following continued rainfall.
Residents have also been urged to remain alert and follow official safety instructions as further rain is expected in several areas of Islamabad.

Meanwhile, Islamabad’s newly constructed Serena Underpass road, developed as part of a Rs4.2 billion project, had reportedly caved in following heavy rainfall, prompting concerns over drainage and construction quality.
However, the affected section of the road has since been repaired, and traffic is currently moving smoothly through the area.
Will it rain in Islamabad and Rawalpindi?
The Twin Cities and Potohar region are likely to receive rain at different times over the next three to four days.
Islamabad is expected to remain partly cloudy today. Heavy rain with thunderstorms is also possible in the city.
Several other parts of the country are also likely to receive rain. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and northern Punjab may see more rainfall. Light drizzle is also expected in some parts of Karachi.
Is there a risk of flash floods?
The risk of flash floods remains in some areas because of the expected rain. Relevant departments have been told to stay alert and take steps to deal with any emergency.
Heavy rain has also affected different parts of Lahore. Rain was reported in areas including Queens Road and Bagh Jinnah.
The PMD has given a 20 per cent chance of rain in Lahore today. The city is likely to remain partly cloudy as clouds continue to move across the area.
